Italian Study Holidays in Molise
Ma Molise non esiste........ (but Molise doesn't exist)

In September 2026, we are returning to Molise once more, to a small hilltop town or 'borgo' called Colli a Volturno, which is a small town of 1300 people. Being small, we have found that it is perfect for practising your Italian language skills, making friends with locals, who are more than happy to take time to chat over a cappuccino or a spritzer. The town is surrounded by the mountains of the
Mainarde, making the air fresh and clean, the local river cool and clear and the surroundings breathtaking.

Molise? I've never heard of it!
Beautiful Molise is found on the Adriatic coast, sitting between Puglia to the south, Abruzzo to the north and Lazio and Campania to the west. Molise is so untouched by tourism, that even many Italians are not sure whether it even exists (it's the youngest province in Italy, only coming into being in 1970 after splitting from the neighbouring province of Abruzzo). There are 30km of coastline, with most of the remainder of the province being mountains & hills. It is thoroughly, authentically Italian!

La Piccola Parigi
Colli a Volturno is a small town (borgo) on top of a hill on the border of the Abruzzo, Molise and Lazio National Park & the Mainarde mountains. The small town has good transport links and plenty of good places to eat, including a wonderful café and pasticceria. The area is studded with beautiful walks, horse riding tracks, beautifully clean rivers, crystal clear lakes, ancient architecture (both Roman and Samnite), and the freshest, cleanest air.
