Today my first students arrived and they are already in love with Colli a Volturno. They arrived in time to watch today's procession around the town, of Sant'Egidio (the patron saint of protection from earthquakes). This saint is important here, as the town was hit by two earthquakes on the 7th and 11th May 1984. The earthquakes caused fatalities and injuries not only in the town, but in many of the nearby towns.
This evening there is the final outdoor concert of the summer, before the children return to school. It's wonderful to be able to sit outside at nearly 11pm without a jumper on.
