Another beautiful day in Colli

A stunningly bright day today, warming and uplifting.
On the cards for me today is a trip to Naples airport to collect my husband, who has come out to see me and to stay for my final week of intensive courses. My lovely hire car, Lola, which was a white WV Polo, was perfect on the journey, despite some of the roads having even more twists and turns than a series of Traitors. A big thank you Matteo at Ecogarage in Venafro, who was fabulous from the moment of my arrival, four hours late at 11pm on a Friday night, leaving my car, unlocked, in a secret location with the key under the drivers' seat. I doubt I would receive that level of service from Avis! By hiring the car in Venafro, I didn't have to drive on the motorway from Rome airport, but could chill out on the train. It makes things so much easier. https://www.instagram.com/egogarage.it?igsh=dzM0eHp3Mnpla25k,
Anyway, once I had met up with my husband at the airport (after a 90minute delay) we proceeded to leave the car park and enter the roads outside of Naples airport. I had never noticed that my husband was a nervous passenger, but with the yell of , 'Oh my God, how many lanes are there supposed to be on this roundabout?' (two but who's counting) and 'Watch out for the moped, oh my God, it's an utter madhouse!', I now know differently. Naples is definitely an 'offensive driving city' in both senses of the word. Thank goodness that Colli a Volturno is the complete opposite; quiet, slow paced and a 30km an hour limit that is observed for the most part. They even stop at the zebra crossing......as long as you stride out confidently enough!
